Mkwetu Mweutota

Program Coordinator WWF CBNRM: Governance and Responsible Stewardship

Mkwetu is a highly motivated and seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in natural resources management, environmental sustainability, and development. Her expertise spans national, sub-national, and international levels, focusing on coordinating and managing complex programs related to natural resources, climate change resilience, sustainable land management, and water resources management. 

Prior to joining WWF Namibia in 2023, Mkwetu worked for the Environmental Investment Fund (EIF) as a National Project Manager and for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as a Watershed Climate Resilience Specialist and Programme Analyst. In these roles, she supported programs and projects funded by prominent donors such as the Global Environmental Facility (GEF), Green Climate Fund (GCF), UNDP, GIZ, and various bilateral donors. 

In her role at WWF Namibia, Mkwetu leads the coordination and monitoring of program initiatives under the governance portfolio. Her wealth of experience has proven to be invaluable in fostering collaboration and securing funding for impactful projects within our conservation landscape. 

Mkwetu holds a Master of Science in Natural Resources Management from the University of Bergen, Norway, and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management from the University of Namibia. She is Project Management certified. 

Outside of her professional life, Mkwetu enjoys gardening, reflecting her passion for sustainable development and the environment. With her extensive experience and commitment to conservation, Mkwetu is a valuable addition to the WWF team.
