Simonia Kanyumara
Communications Assistant
Simonia Kanyumara joined WWF in January 2024 as a Communications Intern, combining her Tourism Management background (BA Hons, University of Namibia) with a passion for communications. She has contributed to impactful initiatives, including Earth Hour events in collaboration with the City of Windhoek (COW) and the Namibian Rugby Union, where she helped enhance the event’s outreach by involving influential figures like Miss Earth Namibia as the MC.
Simonia gained valuable fieldwork experience with WWF’s Wildlife and Landscapes team, particularly during the Sustainable Waste Management (SWM) project field trip, which deepened her understanding of conservation efforts within local conservancies. At the Community Conservation Inspiration Hub (CCI Hub), she supported events such as its launch and a CANVA training workshop. Additionally, she contributed to the SOCCR Report and Panda Pulse learning sessions.
As a dedicated conservation advocate, Simonia plays a vital role in advancing WWF Namibia’s mission through effective communication and teamwork.
