Andre Baumgarten
Deputy Project Manager for Northeastern Parks and Regions for the IWPP
André has over 20 years of experience in international wildlife conservation and sustainable development. He has worked with organizations including UNDP Namibia, WWF Namibia, Wildlife Conservation Society in New York and Rwanda, Conservation International in Papua New Guinea, and Frankfurt Zoological Society in Tanzania, where he contributed to conservation efforts across Sub-Saharan Africa, protecting biodiversity and supporting local communities. In Namibia, André has been involved in protected area management support in the Northeastern Parks and the national rollout of the Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool (SMART) through the Ministry of Environment Forestry and Tourism’s (MEFT) Namibian Parks Programme (NamParks) and the MEFT-WWF Integrated Wildlife Protection Project, engaging with the SMART Partnership and local partners.
