Originally from Ibbu settlement, Salambala Conservancy, Sigrid grew up surrounded by wildlife and has always been passionate about conservation. She began her conservation career in July 2020 when she joined NACSO under the Conservation Leadership Programme as an Assistant Business Advisor Intern with the Business, Enterprise and Livelihoods Working Group. She joined WWF in 2021 as a Project Officer focused on data collection and analysis, co-creating and co-designing project interventions that support communities’ livelihoods and reduce pressure on nature in the Zambezi Region, including exploring how indigenous knowledge can be used to combat the impacts of climate change. Sigrid has an Honours degree in Land Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Regional and Rural Development.
